Stand Sanji 2nd

立ち呑み スタンドサンジ2nd

Sannomiya · ¥ · Standing bar · Good food

A standing bar where the sashimi is suspiciously good for the price — partly because the owner goes fishing himself, and the rest comes up from Awaji Island. The ¥690 assorted platter is the order; follow it with the A5 wagyu 'meat sushi' and one of the fruit sours (the kiwi one is the house move).

It's twenty people max, everyone standing, and the shop calls itself a place for connecting strangers — which checks out: stand here twice and you're a regular. There's a senbero set (three drinks plus a bite, around ¥1,100) if you want the classic budget ritual.

Two quirks: closed Tue–Wed, and there's no toilet inside — go before you arrive. If it's shut, the original Stand Sanji a few doors west staggers its days off, so one Sanji is almost always open. And Ruu-chan's ¥380 counter is practically next door — this arcade is a ready-made hashigo.
