CRAFT KOBE STARBOARD

Owner Yuka Shinomiya is the daughter of Rokko Beer's founder; she managed its diner before going independent. Her own Kobe Beer started as small batches brewed in the shop and is now made at the company's Suwayama brewery. Fifteen to twenty beers are on — three or four house Kobe Beers alongside Rokko Beer and guest taps.

A six-glass tasting set (two Kobe Beer, three Rokko Beer, one pick) is ¥2,200 if you want to work through the range without committing to a pint of anything, and there's food to go with it.
