TRIANGLE is the modern version of the oldest Kobe drinking format: the kakuuchi — drinking inside the shop you bought it from. Seven-odd taps, all Japanese craft — always at least one from Hyogo, the rest from all over the country — plus a fridge of around 70 bottles and cans, drunk standing at the counter under chalkboard notes on every beer.

Maemura-san spent three years brewing and selling at Kobe's own Rokko Beer before opening this place to be 'on the side that connects breweries with drinkers', and it drinks exactly like that: ask anything, or order the ¥1,500 three-glass flight and let the board decide.

It opens at 13:00, you can bring in outside food as long as it isn't strong-smelling, and on the fourth Saturday of the month a handmade market fills Minatogawa Park, eight minutes' walk away — the correct Saturday to come.
