Valle Sagrado

Five minutes uphill from the Sannomiya subway, past where the tourist flow thins out, Valle Sagrado pours six rotating craft taps — and doubles as a bottle shop, with 100-plus beers across draft, bottle and can if you'd rather take the night back to your hotel.

Glasses come in three sizes, so you can taste your way across the taps in small pours. Food is simple and right: smoked plates and a thick-cut bacon steak — beer food, not dinner.

The name is Spanish for 'sacred valley', the beer comes from all over the world, and the counter is where you want to sit. Check their Instagram (@vallesagrado_kobe) before a special trip; the schedule has irregular holes.
